A Tentative Dip Into The World of Affiliate Blogging (Oh, And Hellebores!)

Hello everyone!

Over the last year or so, I've been lucky enough to work with some fab companies, who as you know, send me items to photograph and blog about.  I'm very picky about who I work with - their products really have to fit in with my home, and it has to be something that I would naturally purchase and that I think you, my lovely readers, will enjoy reading about or seeing pictures of.  I've been pretty pleased with my choices so far; I think every company I've worked with has really complimented my ethos of mixing vintage and high street finds, to make an eclectic home.

Part of the next step of moving this blog forward a little, is becoming an affiliate for the first time.  An affiliate means that I post about the products of a company, and within my post are affiliate links.  If you as the reader click on the link and make a purchase, I make a commission, it's as simple as that.  There reason I'm sharing this with you, is because I want to be completely honest with you.  (Plus legally, I have to!)

Please don't be alarmed that I'm selling out or that suddenly banners and links will be present in every post, because that quite simply isn't that case.  I will only ever work with companies and products that I love.  This blog will be the same as it always has - my home, my DIY projects, floral prettiness, my vintage finds and craft projects.  It merely means that from time to time, if I'm approached to blog about a product or service that I really love and want to share with you, I will do it, but I'll always be upfront at the beginning of the post about whether it contains affiliate links.  After all, we don't all have great car boot fairs, flea markets or boutiques on our doorstep, so if I can point you in the direction of lovely places to shop online, then hoorah!  And if you don't like the idea of affiliate links, then you can ignore them and just enjoy my photos.  Simple!

Etsy UK invited me to be an affiliate which is really exciting, and I will be posting on Tuesday about how they helped me to spruce up my desk with some pretty bits and bobs.

Apologies for the rambling post, but I really do want to be completely upfront with you.  Running this blog is my absolute passion, and if I can make a few extra pennies from it to put towards my car boot fair fund this year (it's nearly that time of year!!  Are you excited for me to go hunting for some vintage treasure soon?) then so be it, a gal's gotta fund her car boot fair habit somehow!

By they way, I found these pretty hellebores nestling at the back of the border the other day.  I dug these up from the old house and brought them with me to this house, so it's like seeing old friends.  I ordered some Cafe Au Lait dahlia tubers today which I'm so excited about, after seeing them all over Instagram last year.  They will be planted out in my front garden once it's makeover is complete.

Have a wonderful day!

Tamsyn x
